Watching // Stranger Things: If you haven’t heard of Stranger Things, where exactly have you been the last month? Stranger Things is a Netflix Original Series and the best one they’ve produced (in my personal opinion). The show has the perfect balance of so many things. It is scary, funny, and light-hearted (at points). The casting is incredible and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. The show is based in the 1980’s and full of nostalgia. From the: intro music, to the clothing, to the feeling of the show, to even the font they select for the title, it all screams a generation of the past. So many people have described it as a mixture of The Goonies, E.T. and Stand by Me. If you haven’t watched it yet, it is time to curl up on the couch. Just be prepared to stop yourself from binge watching it!
Listening // Binge by Tyler Oakley: Speaking of binge, I totally binge listened to Tyler Oakley’s audiobook Binge this last week. I started watching Tyler Oakley’s YouTube videos a few years ago. Since then his YouTube channel has exploded. If you watch The Amazing Race, you might also know him from appearing on the 28th season. After listening to other books read by the author and knowing how hilarious Tyler is, I decided this was a book I’d rather listen to. I’m so glad I made that choice! I literally caught myself laughing out loud at so many sections of his book. He tells anecdotes from the first 25 years of his life and he does it in a way that makes you feel like it is your best friend reliving stories from his past. It is highly entertaining and I’d recommend it even if you don’t know who he is!
Reading // Sisterhood Everlasting: As a big fan of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, I was pretty surprised to find that I somehow missed that a 5th book had been published 5 years ago! When the 4th book was published, I thought it was the final installment. Since I started reading the book a few weeks ago, I’ve also heard that a 3rd movie is the works to chronicle the 5th book. I’m only halfway through the novel right now and I still have a lot of questions. Much like the rest of the series, I’ve quickly moved through the book so it is a perfect beach read.
